JoshBorn in August 2004, black & tan crossbreed Josh & owner Brenda happened upon the 'Owlers when we were based at My Pet Stop, as Josh was a former resident of the RSPCA kennels there, patiently awaiting a loving home.

Along with Charli & Little Archie he was a member of our first batch of brand new starter dogs and made his debut along with his 2 compatriots at Carlton Towers in 2006.

You may well wonder where the unusual title of  "Flowerpot Man" comes from!  Well Josh was a very timid, nervous little chap easily distracted (even alarmed) and his early progress was a little slow in the scary indoor arena of Pet Stop, so Bren took to extra home training; using flower pots and poles in the more settled environment of his own garden and the transformation was amazing.

Josh made his open debut in Dec 2006, but competitions were still very scary places and he could have the odd spook or two at the more public ones and he's never been too keen on going into dogs too closely.  By 2008 however, he had become one of the most consistent, and reliable dogs of the Nights, we love our "slow burners" at the 'Owlers and it has a been a pleasure to see this dog develop over his time with us, not only with flyball but as a much more confident little man in general!

We are still not convinced that he doesn't have more up his sleeve, 'cos if you ever see him haring across the field before training, often these days with George in pursuit, you realise how fast he really can shift - there's definitely some whippet in there somewhere!
