Born in April 2006, Border Collie Dylan was destined for flyball as his dad competed in the sport in a team with "sister" Kim.
Unlike "sisters" Kim and Mollie, Dylan had no previous flyballing experience when he joined 'Owlers in March 2007 nor did he start training until the following October, a very tall, long backed chap we made sure he was fully co-ordinated before starting to work with him.
He made his starters debut in 2008 at Carlton Towers along with Chip and was sent immediately back to the drawing board when months of boxwork went out of the window the minute he started racing. After a series of unfortunate events, including the dreaded KC, Dylan finally managed to make his open debut in September 2008 and gained his Flyball Dog award.
Dylan is another of our dual purpose dogs, showing some real potential at agility. He started competing in 2008 and has since had lots of top 5 placings at Introductory level at BAA shows.
Dylan is probably one of the most laid back collies you are ever likely to meet; he's more than happy having a cuddle with anyone willing to give him one. He will run anywhere and we are expecting big things for the 2009 season, all that boxwork was worth it as he now has a lovely swimmers turn.
