The Barney's had a red hot Division 1 to contend with and with Jules adamant Murph was going nowhere near red in case of upsetting other dogs, we borrowed Brooke clone Kim from the Barking as our 5th dog. A bit of bad luck with the box probably cost us a couple of early races but rookie Maxine did a great job under the circumstances and we had some good racing against old friends and rivals the Dog Friendly's who sadly didn't push us to that sub 18, but managed it themselves again later in the day - we are owed one now guys, watch out!
Kim ran well with her new team mates and Leanne pulled out some great changovers and we kept things sensible to ensure some good points for her rather than pushing and getting mistakes in unknown territory.
Having only won one race all day we faced the Marnicks of all teams in the blue lane in the final race and decided to go for - we had nothing to lose. We went 2 nil up with a little bit to spare but kept it steady and Mansfield tightened up to take the 3rd leg. Now we were racing and had even pulled the specatators attention! It was neck and neck in the 4th leg as the anchor dogs were ready to go but an uncharacteristic perfect but very noisy changeover by yours truly spooked the Murph who dropped his ball on the way out which debatably went back over the line. Two all - final leg. Again we were neck and neck but the nerves got to the Owlers for once and an early change by James gave the Marnicks the race, so just to make him feel better I got one as well. We know we can push them now, so will be out for revenge!
